EXCALIBUR® and STABULON®, two solutions that contribute to your CSR objectives and optimise your costs.
Whatever your role, today you need to contribute to improving your company’s CSR performance.
So you’re looking to have a positive impact on society without compromising economic viability.
But behind these relatively simple objectives lie a host of actions and values that need to be adapted to suit your needs and resources.
Find out how our EXCALIBUR® and STABULON® solutions can help you improve your CSR.
Our EXCALIBUR® machine, which automatically cuts palletising layer pads from reels, coupled with a STABULON® anti-slip paper layer pad, can be used to meet several objectives to improve your CSR:
1. Reduce your paper consumption, and therefore your environmental footprint
Our EXCALIBUR® solution replaces the traditional shop of pre-cut dividers. By replacing your corrugated cardboard palletising dividers with lighter paper such as STABULON®, you eliminate your robot’s gripping defects.
This paper format is cut individually and then presented to the palletising robot one paper at a time. This way, the gripper no longer runs the risk of dropping the format or picking up several at once. Interleaving formats is smooth and does not cause any line stoppages.
You’re all familiar with the maxim “less is more”, popularised by Mies van der Roh? Here, it really comes into its own, because you use less material for greater savings. You reduce the operating cost of your palletiser and the cost of your consumables!
In effect, you’re replacing a pallet of 500 sheets of corrugated board with a reel of lightweight paper containing up to the equivalent of 5,000 sheets. So you can optimise your flows and stocks, reduce your costs and save time and productivity.
2. Reduce your use of stretch film in your palletising process
Plastic? Why not, but only as much as you need! Palletising stretch film is now an essential part of the transport packaging in your palletising process.
It secures the pallet and its load to ensure safe transport. Thanks to its elastic properties, it can be fixed around the pallet to maintain stability between the different elements making up the pallet.
It is also highly resistant to tearing and perforation, and protects goods from the elements, dirt and theft.
As you can see, stretch film still has many advantages that make it an essential product.
However, these days we’re all too aware of the negative impact plastics have on the environment, so they should only be used when they’re essential.
With our non-slip spacers, you can drastically reduce their use and have a positive impact on the environment.
With over 30 years’ experience, we can advise you on the choice of anti-slip spacer that best suits your needs. We determine it according to your palletising patterns (columnar, crosswise or mixed), the dimensions, geometry and weight of the palletised products, but also according to the stresses exerted on your products and your method of applying the layer pad.
3. Reduce the use of other packaging
Reduce the use of other transport packaging:
Angle irons, strapping, while ensuring compliance with regulations on securing transported loads (vdi2700). Not ignoring regulations is essential to avoid ecological and human tragedies.
The packaging of a product must comply with the legislation of the countries it passes through to ensure that everything runs smoothly during transport. Restrictive though they may be, they help to avoid numerous problems during transport and ensure the safety of goods, people and the environment.
Packaging of any kind is a necessity when transporting goods. Without appropriate packaging, products can suffer a great deal of damage: tipping, punctures, tears, which could cause irreversible damage to people and the environment.
Reduce over-packaging! Get out of the box!
Reducing packaging is an important step in making your business more sustainable and doing good for our planet. You may be thinking that by reducing your current packaging, you can no longer ensure the safety and stability of your goods… Think again and consult our experts!
To reduce packaging, you can start by avoiding over-packaging, using recycled products and reusing packaging. These are small, simple gestures that will enable you to contribute to your CSR approach.
When it comes to the stability of your goods, you can use STABULON®. Its unique coating gives it a sliding angle of over 45°, guaranteeing excellent stability for your products.
If your products are transported to damp areas, STABULON OCEAN® is a non-slip paper that offers great resistance to damp and wet environments. So you won’t have to worry about moisture breaking down your paper dividers.
What’s more, it’s as easy to recycle as ordinary paper, making it the ideal solution for your business.
4. Help improve working conditions
Avoiding general downtime on your production line also allows you to improve working conditions for your employees. You can achieve this by using our EXCALIBUR® format cutting machine and STABULON® anti-slip paper.
Downtime is not the way to optimise your palletising process, as it often ends up directly affecting profits. But with our EXCALIBUR® machine, your process is automated and secure, and operators no longer enter the palletiser cell to ensure that it runs smoothly.
The machine reduces the weight of your dividers and the number of references to be supplied, and eliminates the need to change your consumables when changing formats. With this system, you eliminate the need for frequent operator intervention to feed the format magazine, and loads are no longer carried manually. The consumables are changed in complete safety using a wheeled trolley.
What’s more, with our STABULON® anti-slip paper, you can alleviate any problems associated with the instability of the pallet as a whole, thanks to its sliding angle. So pallets don’t tip over, and no employee gets hurt. So they can work in complete safety.
For all those who are not equipped with an automatic stretch wrapping machine, you should know that by reducing the use of stretch film, you reduce manual wrapping operations, the fatigue caused and the onset of RSI.
Quality of life at work is therefore improved thanks to the versatility and modularity of our EXCALIBUR® machine.
