BULK LOADING OF SEA CONTAINERS
When loading a sea container, you traditionally have two alternatives:
- Manual filling: your goods will be manually stacked one by one on the floor of the container. In this case, depending on the dimensions of your products, your fill rate will be close to maximum.
- Pallet loading. But in this case, your fill rate will be less than 80% (the volume of an empty pallet and the space required for handling are equivalent to 20% on average).
CGP Coating Innovation has a solution for you, and it concerns all companies faced with the problem of exporting or importing bulk products: ECOLOGISTIK® slip-sheet.
ECOLOGISTIK® slip-sheet
It’s a recyclable Kraft liner sheet, developed to replace the wooden pallet and overcome the various problems associated with bulk loading. Did you know that with a slip-sheet, the fill rate can be almost identical to manual loading? Let’s look together at why slip-sheet should be preferred to bulk loading.
THE SLIP-SHEET ALLOWS :
1 – LABOUR SAVINGS
The Slip-Sheet can handle all kinds of loads and keep your palletised products safe during handling and transport. The CGP Coating Innovation range covers all requirements in terms of mechanical resistance linked to the weight to be loaded or the type of packaging (cartons, bags, big-bags, wooden crates, etc.).
To install the slip-sheet, you fit your forklift truck with a Push-Pull system or a Rollerforks system to handle the slip-sheet, which is more efficient because you can leave only 1 or even 2 people to handle the loading. This means you can allocate your manpower to other productive activities.
2 – REDUCE LOADING AND UNLOADING TIME
Load and unload your container in just 45 minutes using a single forklift driver capable of carrying several loads at once.
Some people opt for less-than-optimal logistics, and as a result they waste time and money.
With our lightweight slip-sheet, you optimise your loading time, unlike manual loading, because our ECOLOGISTIK® slip-sheet can carry a maximum load of between 800 kg and 1800 kg, depending on your requirements:
- ECOLOGISTIK® CLASSIC slip-sheet Maximum load 1200 kg
- Slip-sheet ECOLOGISTIK® LIGHT Maximum load 800 kg
- Slip-sheet ECOLOGISTIK® HEAVY Maximum load 1800 kg
Our experts are on hand to help you choose the right solution for your needs and constraints.
3 – IMPROVE WORKING CONDITIONS
Thanks to slip-sheet, there’s no time wasted or worries to worry about, and you can keep your goods and your employees safe. Loading time and health and safety risks in the workplace are considerably reduced because the loads are not placed by a physical person but by a tool (push-pull or rollerforks). Its use therefore reduces potential falls, slips, injuries, backache and any other hazards. Carrying, pushing, pulling, lifting, placing or depositing loads involves physical effort and sometimes uncomfortable working positions. When these actions are carried out repeatedly at a very fast pace, several parts of the body can be overworked. This can lead to accidents (slipping, falling loads), muscular pain and fatigue.
4 – AVOID PRODUCT DAMAGE
When exporting your goods by sea container, certain choices can damage your cargo. To avoid surprises, it is necessary to use a stabiliser between layers so that the load does not tip over or crush to the ground, as this could damage the goods. In addition, your bags remain stable and do not take on moisture as it acts as a barrier to water. With ECOLOGISTIK® slip-sheet, you optimise your storage and transport operations and the management of consumables. You can optimise your processes and reduce the risk of damage to your products. Our experts are here to help you in defining YOUR SLIP-SHEET.
